About Me

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology with a specialization in addressing anxiety, depression, family conflict, child/adolescent concerns, and parenting challenges.

I am a graduate of McGill University and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I specialize in working with individuals and families who struggle to connect or feel stuck going through the motions of life and not experiencing joy or happiness.

Many of my clients struggle with feelings of overwhelm, isolation, and a sense that no one understands them. They often feel stuck, worried, and caught in a cycle of comparing themselves to others who seem to have it all together.

My goal is to help clients break free from limiting patterns of thinking and feeling and move toward a sense of being solid and steady within themselves. When we truly understand our emotions, we can meet these emotions with compassion and efficacy.

I’ve always been driven by a natural interest in people and their stories.

I've always known that I wanted to work in the helping field. People have often told me that I'm a good listener, and it feels important to me that people feel less alone in their struggles. I aim to truly understand the person in front of me and what they have been through..

I spend much time in therapy sessions building solid relationships with my clients. I want my clients to feel comfortable and safe in my space and know I understand what it's like to struggle and feel overwhelmed. We are all here experiencing the ups and downs of being human, and I continuously work to cultivate self-compassion, as I encourage my clients to do.

One of my strengths as a therapist is my ability to build connections. I see therapy sessions as meaningful conversations between two (or more) people. Connection is crucial in therapy, and the skills developed in therapy will help improve relationships outside the therapy room.

I use various tools and strategies to fit each person's unique needs.

Life always presents challenges, and how we respond to them impacts our mental health, relationships, and physical well-being. Through collaborative exploration, we will find the skills and techniques that work for each unique person.  Too often, people attempt to avoid or suppress emotions, using unhealthy coping mechanisms that offer short bursts of relief.

'My approach integrates emotion-focused techniques into sessions, empowering individuals to sit with their feelings, understand where they come from, and heal from their pain. These tools help deepen self-awareness, enabling them to navigate their emotional landscape with confidence and resilience. This is particularly important for adolescents and their parents. Children and teenagers often struggle to understand new and intense emotions while dealing with social pressures. Parents do their best to stay regulated to support their children, but this can be challenging if they haven't learned or strengthened these skills in their childhood.
