As a therapist, I use a combination of modalities to work with parents and caregivers to help them manage their emotions and their well-being while caring for their children. While many approaches focus on the needs of the children, others focus on the needs of the parents. My approach seeks to meet the needs of all family members.


My specialization is Emotion-Focused Therapy, which means that I recognize our emotions' role in our relationships with ourselves and others. When we become parents, we can become overwhelmed by our emotions, resulting in behaviours that do not align with how we would like to parent.


We may also be experiencing burnout, isolation, and even grief with the loss of who we were before becoming a parent or a caregiver and the loss of freedom.

I support parents and caregivers by helping them understand their emotions and reactions and providing knowledge on their and their child's relationship needs, parenting, and communication skills development.


I approach parent/caregiver therapy with compassion, understanding that parents/caregivers can feel shame and guilt when addressing the challenges they experience and when they see their children struggling. Parenting is hard, and it's okay to need support as we navigate the complexities of parenting and build the skills to create the family life we want. 


This is a safe, non-judgmental space where parents can openly discuss their concerns and receive the support they need to navigate their unique parenting journey.
